The ‘Robot’ effect gives chills to South producers and distributors

As Rajnikanth-Aishwarya starrer ‘Robot’ awaits the release on October 1, Friday, the entire nation is shivering with ‘Robot’ fever and there are enough reasons for it too as it is the costliest movie ever with an extraordinary pairing of South God Rajnikanth with Bollywood’s diva Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The movie will simultaneously hit the screens in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi on October 1.

The film will be releasing in all three languages in over 3000 screens and 2250 prints around the world on Friday, October 1. According to Hansraj Saxena, COO of Sun Pictures, Tamil version will be releasing in 1450 theaters with 1000 plus prints.

Such is the hype and power of this flick that most of the producers and distributors in South have decided to shy away from opening their films in the two weeks leading up to robot’s premiere on September 24. So, there will be no new releases this month until the buzz around this sci-fi flick settles down after its release.

The movie is directed by Shankar and it has Oscar award winner AR Rahman’s music.
