Divya Dutta weaves the magic of Black and White once again

Am Movies UK Ltd has already wrapped up the shoot of ‘Chehre’ at Kamal Amrohi Studios and now the movie is into the post-production phase. The cast of the movie includes Jackie Shroff, Manisha Koirala, Arya Babbar, Hrishita Bhatta, Divya Dutta, Bob Brahmabhatt, Geet Vij and Gulshan Grover.Made under the direction of debutant director Rohit Kaushik, India’s first black and white film in totality in recent times, the movie is a suspense thriller set against the backdrop of the 50s era, detailing the lives of two sisters. The stills of the movie illumine Divya Dutta sporting the ‘look’ of Meena Kumari, the legendary yesteryear icon.
An all excited Divya Dutta said, “I am very excited about this movie. I have been a huge fan of stalwarts like Meena Kumariji and Nutanji. Playing a character based in 50s for a black and white movie was like stepping into their shoes. But I am glad that directors are coming up with innovative ideas and interesting subjects these days and are ready to experiment with the look of the film, as per the demands of script. When I heard that the film was not in color and black & white instead, I was taken aback, but I immediately said yes.”
The film is produced by Asha Patel and Inderjit Dahaley. The film’s music has been composed by Jaideep Chaudhari and the lyrics have been written by Sayeed Qadri.
