'What a bright goodlooking boy SRK's son Aryan is'

Barely hours after Spain won the World Cup Anil Kapoor was fatigued and yet euphoric in Johannesburg.He had seen what he called the greatest show on earth and met the man who made it possible. Being the brand ambassador to South Africa Anil had a ringside view of the match. And he's most impressed. “You have to understand the World Cup final was a selfcontained experience. And the way the South African government put it together is exemplary for all, including us Indians who struggle against countless glitches when we host an international sporting event. On Sunday evening here in Johannesburg there were no glitches, no traffic jams on the roads, no seating errors, no jostling and no VIP interventions. Everything went smoothly. I'd describe it as the greatest show on earth.” Anil was bowled over by Shakira. “What a presence! What a performance! She just took everyone's collective breath away and set the right mood for the match.” The match itself was touch and go, and Anil was hooked. “The final moments proved decisive for Spain. I realized what edge-of-the- seat excitement meant. I forgot everything in the final moments of the game including the fact that I had flown in and had to fly out within 24 hours. It was just 96, 000 people staring open-mouthed in a stadium built specially for the occasion.” Anil ran into some of his colleagues from Bollywood at the stadium. “It was great meeting Shah Rukh and Gauri, though they sat in a different area from me. What I really enjoyed was meeting Shah Rukh's son Aryan for the first time. What a bright goodlooking boy. He sure is a chip off the old block.” But the greatest most moving moment of the match was when Nelson Mandela arrived. Anil chokes with emotion. “I first met Mandela for my film Gandhi My Father. But I can never get over my awe and admiration for the man. The elaborate and elegant way he arrived for the match just bowled me over.Because of his grand-daughter's accident Mandela had not come for any of the other matches. But he made it a point to come for this one because his country hosting something so spectacular was matter of great pride for him. I just kept looking at him wondering how vindicated Mandela must be feeling to see a country he had brought to freedom, celebrating its freedom with such a wonderful event.” On Monday, Anil was getting ready to return to Mumbai. “I've to be back to carry on with the marketing of my daughter's film.I can't wait to see its release on August 6. After that I'm taking a month-long holiday in LA. I think I've earned myself a break.”

Shahrukh made unsavory comments

The ongoing Shahrukh-Salman war may just end soon. The cold war started last year when Shahrukh made some unsavory comments about Salman’s ex-girlfriend, Aishwarya Rai.

Even though many people from the industry tried to make peace between the battling stars, it was all in vain. But this time, they have both been signed on for a reality show.

The show, Dance Premiere League, which has signed on Katrina Kaif, Prabhudeva, Bipasha Basu and Kareena Kapoor, might also have Shahrukh and Salman.

The show will have participants from different places who will be pitted against each other. While nothing is confirmed, as of yet, the two stars may appear on the show when their teams clash against each other. Let’s see how this turns out…

Shah Rukh Khan has been offered a lawyer’s role - 'Subhash Kapoor'!

Our Baadshah is going to wear the lawyer coat now! Shah Rukh Khan has been offered a lawyer’s role in Subhash Kapoor’s movie, titled ‘Jolly LLB’. SRK has worn various kinds of characters before and this is the first time that he will attempt a lawyer’s role!

About the project, the director-writer said to sources, “The film will take on the pros and cons of the judicial system. When we first had an appointment with SRK, he had given us about 45 minutes for the narration. However, we ended up discussing the film for over two hours. He took to the film in the first 20 minutes itself. He loved the film immensely. The film’s producer Rakesh Upadhyay is finalising the other details.”

‘Jolly LLB’ is expected to be produced by SRK’s Red Chillies Entertainment in association with Rakesh Upadhyay. As of now, talks are still going on the project and there would be formal announcement from the production house. After that putting everything in place the movie will go on floors next year.

Earlier, Subhash Kapoor had given a movie titled ‘Say Salaam India’ that had Sanjay Suri, Vinay Pathak and Sandhya Mrudul. But the movie unfortunately failed to create an impression. Now let’s see whether the director will hit the target with our King Khan!

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, has run into trouble

Sources has it that the much anticipated Temptations concert, featuring Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, has run into trouble.

The shows in Germany and Spain have been cancelled because of the promoter breaching the contract, and now only the Dubai one will be staged. The source says, “It is a big disappointment for SRK. In fact, industry insiders had labelled this tour as SRK’s answer to Amitabh Bachchan’s Unforgettable Tour. But now, SRK will have to be content with only one show in Dubai.”

The official statement from Karim Morani (director of the Temptation Reloaded 2008 tour) is, “Red Chillies Entertainment Limited (SRK’s production house) announces with great regret that they will be unable to facilitate the three city tour of Temptations Reloaded 2008 in Germany (in Berlin, Munich and Frankfurt). This is due to the breach of contract by the promoter of the shows Sensasian Media Limited. They did not fulfil their obligation in due time which makes it impossible for the shows to take place in Germany.”

Bollywood stars like Katrina Kaif, Bipasha Basu, Deepika Padukone and Arjun Rampal are part of this tour which was being termed as bigger than the recently held Bachchan’s World Tour.

Several complaints have been filed against Shahrukh Khan bungalow

The Bombay High Court today issued a notice to Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan over the alleged illegal construction in the backyard of his palatial bungalow ‘Mannat’ at suburban Bandra.

A division bench, consisting of Chief Justice Sawtantra Kumar and Justice A P Deshpande also asked the state government and the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to explain on what grounds did they allow the construction.

This is not the first time that the actor’s house is in trouble.

In the past too, Several complaints have been filed against Khan’s bungalow.

The direction was given in response to a petition alleging that 32 norms were violated while constructing the bungalow.

This time around, however, the house is facing the heat over the construction of a seven-storeyed building in the backyard. A Mumbai- based social worker Amit Maro filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) last month before the High Court against the alleged illegal construction.

The PIL also alleged that the actor has further violated the Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) Notification, 1991, by getting his land classified in the relatively liberal CRZ-I, when it was in the highly restrictive CRZ-II classification.

The work on the bungalow is also said to be in violation of the statutory Heritage Regulations, which regulate that the new building should be of the same height as the old structure, which stood there before, and that it should have architectural attributes in harmony with the old structure.
